Roadside Reveries

Roadside Reveries is a photographic study of roadside America, focusing on attractions, motels, signage, and architecture designed to interrupt the journey, photographed in moments of stillness without crowds.

The American road is lined with objects built to interrupt the journey.

From desert dinosaurs to roadside sculptures and towering signs, these constructions were made to catch the eye of travellers moving through vast landscapes.

Photographed without the crowds they once hoped to attract, these monuments feel suspended between spectacle and memory. In the quiet that follows the passing traffic, they remain as markers of imagination placed beside the road.

Chapter One: The Mojave

Roadside Reveries traces these curious monuments across the American landscape, beginning in the Mojave Desert.

Photographed across the Mojave Desert, including Palmdale, Twentynine Palms, Cabazon, and Amboy.
